Having started the ride on Tuesday 7th July from Aviemore & finishing on Saturday 11th July in Edinburgh  the final number of miles covered up to & including Saturday 25th April was 167 miles. The bike suffered 0 punctures & no mechanical failures. On the daily rides I normally drank at least 2 litres of water per day & consumed numerous chocolate bars, flapjacks, Kendal Mint cake bars & pasties to keep my energy levels up. Sunday 12th July – Edinburgh to London Kings Cross by train

I’m booked on 11:00hrs Virgin East Coast train 1st class from Edinburgh Waverly to London Kings Cross, arriving at 15:45hrs then tube across to Liverpool Street then home to Chelmsford from there. The ride from the hotel to the rail station was 3 miles along a long straight road, yesterday the road was extremely busy with Saturday tourist & shopping traffic. Today at 07:30hrs it was virtually deserted. My total mileage for today was 5 miles!

Today is the last ride of this trip, I’m heading for Edinburgh crossing the Forth Road Bridge. I’m booked into what I think may be a low class hotel on the outskirts of the city, it was cheap at £60 but I think the place is run by non Scots people.The ride from Inverkeithing to the Forth Road Bridge was a short, only 2 miles, on the approach there were good views across the Forth of both the road bridge…
